“Raven’s Vigil” speaks to the space between the seen and unseen, a place where spirit and land are intertwined. The raven, both messenger and watcher, stands as a quiet guardian, bridging worlds that are always in conversation with one another.

This piece was created through intuition and response, each layer of wax, each fragment of branch and texture, a dialogue with the materials themselves. The earthy tones and weathered surfaces reflect the rawness of nature and the teachings that everything is connected.

The three-dimensional form extends beyond the surface, blurring the boundary between painting and sculpture. It invites touch and contemplation, asking us to see not just what’s in front of us, but what’s felt beneath, the movement of spirit through matter.

For me, Raven’s Vigil is both a reflection and a reminder: that presence lives in stillness, that stories exist in silence, and that the natural world is always speaking, if we choose to listen.
