Birch Bark Scroll carries memory like the trees themselves, layered, marked, and enduring. The form of the scroll evokes ancestral teachings, when birch bark held stories, maps, and messages, connecting generations across time. In this work, the scroll becomes a vessel of kindness, a keeper of moments, places, and memories that shaped their meaning.

The encaustic surface breathes with texture, echoing the lines of bark, the warmth of fire, and the fragility of what is held close. Protruding elements, folds, and layered materials extend beyond the flat plane, inviting the viewer into a tactile dialogue with the piece, encouraging both reflection and presence.

Each fold of the scroll is both a remembrance and a gift, carrying gentle truths forward, much like stories passed down through generations, living, changing, and rooted to the land.
