Clever Crow

It’s 4 A.M

The crows are making soup in my bird bath. Noisy, bossy chefs, they argue about the recipe.

MORE… MORE…

ENOUGH… ENOUGH.

Who are they feeding this noxious brew of bones and breadcrusts stolen from trash bins? It will simmer there all morning, fouling the plans of wrens and robins, who come for bathing and refreshment.

Unless I scurry barefoot into the garden to deal with their treachery…

From the back fence they watch… four sly murderous beady eyes, plotting some clever revenge.
